MILTECH ASSEMBLY PERFORMANCE OVERVIEW
Electrical Characteristics - All of the MILTECH cable assemblies noted above provide true low loss, low VSWR - and inherently stable - performance. These sealed transmission line products provide the longest service life available.
Mechanical Characteristics - These cable assemblies are designed, manufactured, and tested to provide reliable interconnections in the most demanding installations and environments. This unparalleled combination of bending, torque, and tensile strengths guarantee a long service life.
Insertion Loss - Each TMS detail specification presents a graph of loss vs. frequency for the assembly. Also included are a table of losses at various frequencies, and an equation to be used for calculating losses at specific frequencies.
Testing - Each Cable Assembly is measured for Insertion Loss and VSWR over the Test Frequency Range per the TMS detail specification.
Connectors - All of the connectors used in these cable assemblies are of a precision Stainless Steel design which meet or exceed the requirements of MIL-C-39012. They are uniquely designed to provide maximum electrical, mechanical, and environmental performance.
Connector materials include: Gold Plated Beryllium Copper for Contacts, PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) Dielectrics, and Bodies and Coupling Nuts of Stainless Steel.
Replaceable Front End Connector Types thread onto a factory installed Universal Intermediate Section. This design approach provides for easy replacement of a connector in the event of damage, or when the need arises to change to a different type of interface or angular configuration.
Cable Construction and Materials - The vapor sealed cable materials include: Silver Plated Copper strips and round wires for the Conductors, Polytetrafluoroethylene Tape for the Dielectric Core, Aluminum Backed Tape Interlayer Seals, Outer Vapor Seals of FEP / Composite Tapes, and an Outer Jacket of Nomex®.
