It was previously optimized for gain and pattern using 4 segments per side, but the results changed dramatically when 6 were used. It has been reoptimized somewhat here, but a better pattern is obtainable with some additional effort. This antenna is capable of providing the same performance as a 4 el Yagi on a boom twice as long.
